Job Shadowing with Municipal Management Association of Northern California Week of Nov. 1, 2010
The following information recently came to my attention. It’s about job shadowing opportunities provided by the Municipal Management Association of Northern California (MMANC) for college students – both undergraduate and graduate levels – interested in working in local government.
I just checked out their website at mmanc.org, and their Job Shadow Program appears to be solid. According to their website:
“MMANC’s Job Shadow Program will be held the week of November 1, 2010. The program offers an opportunity for local government managers to host talented undergraduate and graduate degree candidates to experience a half day of job shadowing, showing them firsthand the work of a city / county administrator and to build relationships in the local government community. For government management staff, the program is a way to help attract the next generation of workers as well as recruit future talent.”
So if this opportunity interests you or perhaps might interest someone you know, start getting familiar with the MMANC website.
FYI, the job shadows themselves are half-day opportunities. The application due date is October 15, and interested individuals would have to join MMANC at the student member rate of $25 for one year.
